Fourteen of our outstanding Middle School students recently represented Pinecrest International School Santa Fe at DISTRICTMUN in Washington, D.C., an enriching international experience that challenged them academically, socially, and culturally.
Participating in a Model United Nations conference of this caliber requires not only strong academic preparation, but also confidence, global awareness, and the ability to collaborate with peers from diverse backgrounds. Throughout the conference, our students demonstrated exceptional critical thinking, public speaking, negotiation, and diplomacy skills. They engaged in meaningful debates, proposed solutions to complex global issues, and learned to articulate their ideas with clarity and respect.

The journey to DISTRICTMUN began long before arriving in Washington. During the preparation process, students strengthened their research, writing, and argumentation abilities, while deepening their understanding of international relations. Equally important, they developed resilience, teamwork, and leadership—skills that will serve them far beyond the classroom.

A key highlight of this experience was the students’ remarkable command of English. Immersed in a fully international environment, they communicated effectively and confidently, reflecting the high level of bilingual proficiency that distinguishes Pinecrest students. Their performance is a testament to the school’s commitment to academic excellence and global education.
This achievement would not have been possible without the dedication and guidance of our faculty. We extend our sincere recognition to Adriana Cruz, Middle School English Coordinator, and Professor Raul Labra, Middle School English teacher, whose leadership, mentorship, and commitment were instrumental in preparing our students for this experience.

At Pinecrest International School, we are proud to cultivate globally minded students who are prepared to excel on an international stage. The success of our delegation at DISTRICTMUN reaffirms our mission to provide an education of excellence that empowers students to become thoughtful, capable, and engaged global citizens.
