At Pinecrest International School, we recognize that bullying is not just a challenge children may face at school—it is a reality that can affect their self-esteem, emotions, and overall development. That’s why we are proud to be the first school in the Semper Altius School Network to implement Bullies to Buddies, a program designed to provide children and parents with practical tools to navigate these situations with confidence and empathy.
Bullies to Buddies goes beyond traditional anti-bullying efforts. It actively involves families and educators, creating a partnership where everyone plays a role in shaping positive social interactions. Through our Pinecrest Parenting Program, parents gain hands-on strategies to guide their children in real-life situations. In interactive sessions, parents step into their children’s shoes, practicing approaches and responses in realistic scenarios so they truly understand how their children feel and how to support them effectively.
For children, Bullies to Buddies uses relatable, family-centered exercises that mirror the situations they may face at school or at home. Through step-by-step guidance, children learn to respond with confidence, kindness, and resilience, gaining practical tools to handle challenges both independently and with the support of their families.
This dual approach—equipping both children and parents—makes Bullies to Buddies transformative. It goes beyond simply preventing bullying, empowering children to face difficult moments with courage and empathy, while parents feel confident and prepared to support them every step of the way.
